Goodwin Lake/Chicken Fry

There is so much to do here! It is just great. I think I could go on a different hike every single day all summer long and still not see it all. Everything is beautiful too! A week or so ago my friend Eric and I took his dog on a hike up to Goodwin Lake. We stopped at a sandwich place and got lunch and took that up to the lake with us to eat up there. It was a really fun hike. Once we got to the lake, we walked around to the backside of it so the dog (Cody) could play in the snow. Then we decided to just keep walking around the lake. We found a big rock and sat on that to eat our lunch and we just hung out there for a bit before we headed back down. It was a great day for a hike too. It was a little chilly at the lake, but I had a pullover with me so I was fine. The flowers are blooming and everything is so green! Everyone says it is one of the greenest summers they have had here in a while and they think it is because of all of the rain they had in June. Luckily I got here right at the end of all of the rain! The day before the Goodwin Lake hike, the Fire Department had their annual fundraiser. They have a chicken fry every year! It was really fun. I went with all of my roommates and we got our food and sat on a blanket and hung out all afternoon. It was one big community picnic! It was a great day for it too. We sat out there all afternoon and relaxed and talked and ate fried chicken!
